From June 28 to July 7 Madrid celebrates 🏳️🌈 MADO'24 🏳️🌈 . The city is filled with rainbows, parties and demands.
The first Pride march was held in Madrid on June 26, 1977, almost two years after Franco's death. The date was not chosen at random. It was decided to choose a date close to the anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
A police raid on June 28, 1969 in the well-known pub Stonewall Inc - New York, originated demonstrations and violent protests, which are considered as the beginning of the modern movement for LGTBI+ rights.
